Visqueen Politight
Visqueen Politight, a new polythene film which replaces netwrap on round bales, not only secures bales effectively but also aids the grass ensiling process thanks to the increased oxygen barrier provided by the extra layers of film.
Its production from the same material as balewrap means that farmers do not have to separate netwrap from the balewrap after a bale has been opened. Instead, both Visqueen Politight and any accompanying balewrap can be recycled together saving valuable time and labour.
As a film rather than a net product, Visqueen Politight also helps bales retain their shape more effectively thanks to greater surface area coverage. Plus it reduces unwanted wastage of useable silage, as, unlike netwrap, no baled fodder can become enmeshed in it.
Bales wrapped using Visqueen Politight can be opened easily and mechanically with modern clamp systems which allow the bales to be opened and fed directly into the mix wagon in one process.
