An enhanced air barrier

To help reduce air ingression into silage bales (which interferes with the ensiling process), Visqueen Poliwrap has been specially formulated with a high tack level. This ensures that as you wrap, each layer of film sticks firmly to the layer next to it contributing to an increasingly airtight seal. As an additional benefit, Visqueen Poliwrap’s tack characteristics also eliminate long tails. Any cut ends of film simply adhere to the bale.

Protection in any climate

Visqueen Poliwrap was designed for global use. With UV protection levels available for all climates it is equally capable under intense sunlight as it is under harsh winter conditions. Demonstrating this, it is used to produce high quality baled silage by farmers in areas as diverse as the British Isles, Australia and Scandinavia.

The levels of protection it provides far surpass those of lower quality balewrapping films which can be prone to puncturing.

5 Layer Technology

Today's advanced manufacturing techniques have enabled the production of modern, high performance, robust balewrap. Visqueen Poliwrap is at the forefront of such developments and the Visqueen range now includes green and white 5 Layer Technology options. By combining five separate layers of polythene into one overall film, 5 Layer Technology offers the farmer and contractor a tough and highly effective balewrap ideal for use with today's high speed complex wrapping machinery. During manufacture each layer is utilised effectively to offer highly beneficial performance characteristics. For example, the outer surface of the film is equipped with superior UV stabilisers whilst the inner surface is given a high level of tack to help ensure an optimum seal. The robust nature of 5 Layer Technology Film also means it has an increased ability to withstand the coarse features of many forage crops whilst also providing an improved air barrier.
